Interviewer: Why is Comprehensive Sexuality Education important to you? Shane: I think the word Comprehensive means holistic, completely talks about sex and for us who have preconceived notions about sex, our thoughts and assumptions are all limited to what we have been seeing and practicing about sex. Due to this there is a lack of awareness that exists and we make mistakes and misjudgements. It is important for us to look at the topic of sex from a different point of view. When you speak to any Indian, the first image that flashes the mind when someone speaks of sex is of the activity being performed, but there’s more to it which is why we should speak about CSE.
